Joan Segrelles

Joan Segrelles was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1960. He received his formal art training at the Bellas Artes in Barcelona, where he experimented with different art forms and styles. He emerged from the academy as a young painter of outstanding talent and promise.

Reminiscent of Sorolla in his practiced use of light, his evocative paintings take the viewers to another place and time, whether to the places that exist in their fond memories, or to places that exist only in their imagination.
