Gerhard Nesvadba (German, b. 1941) Born in 1941 in Ober-Ramstadt near Darmstadt, Western Germany. The talents which the artist Gerhard Nesvadba possesses to a high degree, the masterful domination of form and a well developed feeling for harmonious colors, are not anywhere as highly valued today as they legitimately should be. Even so, the ability to draw well was a prerequisite for any artistic creativity in all periods of art history. Nesvadba belongs to the small group of genuinely skilled artists, who still have a perfect command of the basic foundations of their trade. Even if this does not fit into the concepts of some official art critics with their preferences for "isms", pop-Art and Happenings, he is justified by his success with the public, still endowed with a sentiment for genuine values. Today Nesvadba is among the top group of the most reproduced and collected artists of the present. Fine Art Reproductions after his originals are made all over the world and have a huge following. The originals themselves, characteristic collectors' items, are masterpieces of the traditional school of painting. Early on, the artist participated frequently in exhibitions both at home and abroad in Stockholm, Copenhagen and Vienna, however, disappointed by various intrigues, he desisted from these activities and presently he lives as a free lance artist in Vienna. The Graphic Collection in Albertina, Vienna, the Municipal Museum in Hamburg and the Collection of the Ministry for Art and Education in Vienna are only a few of his public collectors. Robert Paul Galleries is pleased to bring the works of Gerhard Nesvadba to the American Collector. |
