Paul Bachem

Paul Bachem was born and raised on the North Shore of Long Island.  He lives to paint all the beauty that New England, especially Vermont, has to offer.  Early in his career, Paul studied with and was a member of Stevenson’s Atelier program.

Upon leaving Stevenson’s, Paul began a long career as a freelance illustrator.  He has worked for clients in New York City, across the country and as far away as Sydney, Australia.  A partial list of clients includes Random House, Simon and Schuster, Scholastic Inc., Field and Stream, Forbes, and numerous advertising agencies.  Additionally, Paul’s work is in the permanent collection of the Forbes Gallery in New York.

Over the past few years Paul has focused his passion for plein air painting of landscapes and seascapes.  He is an associate member of the Long Island Plein Air Painters Society.

His oil paintings are in numerous private and corporate collections both in the United States and worldwide.  “From the first time I painted out doors right up until I pack my gear after a days painting session, I can tell you one thing with absolute certainty.  I am never happier than when I am painting from nature.”

He has been selected twice for inclusion in the Greenwich Workshop’s Small Works North America Exhibition and Sale. Paul was also the featured artist in “Informed Collector“ magazine in April of 2009.  Paul has also been selected to participate in “Plein Air Easton!” 2010, a prestigious East Coast plein air event in Easton, Maryland

Paul continues to live on Long Island with his wife Janice and aside from painting, Paul enjoys playing classical guitar and chess.

Robert Paul Galleries is proud to be chosen to show the works of American artist Paul Bachem.
