Claudia Hartley Claudia Hartley was born in California but raised in Kentucky and Georgia. From the time she was old enough to hold something in her hand, she began to draw on anything available: the smooth sand at the beach; the underside of the bark of her native Georgia pine trees; or rocks, using the charcoal leftover from her girl scout camp outs. Claudia Hartley’s formal art training began at the University of Georgia where she earned a BFA degree as an honor graduate in 1967. Soon after the University of Georgia she became a well-known artist and later, an art teacher in Atlanta. For over 20 years she practiced and taught art in the Southeast. Drawn by the light and the "wildness" of the Southwest, she moved to Arizona a few years ago and now enjoys the desert settings. The enthusiasm for her new home is very apparent in her exuberant paintings and can best be described as "happy". Claudia’s paintings reflect her travels around the United States, Provence in France , Switzerland, Iceland, and Ireland. Claudia’s artwork has been published in numerous magazines including "Southwest Art" and "American Art Collector". The works of Claudia Hartley can be found in many private and corporate collections both nationally and internationally. Robert Paul Galleries is proud to be chosen to bring the works of Claudia Hartley to the American collector.
