Beatrice Bork Beatrice Bork was born in rural New Jersey. As a young girl, her summers were filled with hikes in the farmers fields or nearby woods. While there, she always found some creature that she inevitably brought home. These creatures included lightning bugs, turtles, toads or sometimes even a snake. Quiet exploration lead her to realize what wonders truly existed around her and animals naturally became the focus of her art. It is easy for her to connect with her subject matter which deeply inspires her. When Beatrice paints, she likes to capture a moment. She strives for a sense of realism in the animal’s eyes because it holds their spirit. If that part is not right, she believes the whole painting will not work. Her medium of choice is watercolor because not only does she find it to be the most versatile in achieving a realistic quality, it adds to the mood of the painting. Beatrice is a member of the Society of Animal Artists, an association of international artists devoted to promoting excellence in the portrayal of the creatures sharing our planet. She has had many honors including the Don Eckelberry Award, given for achievements in bird art. Her art has been on exhibit at Princeton University, Louisiana State University, the Bennington Center for the Arts in Vermont, and at various museums around the US. Not only can the art of Beatrice Bork can be found in public and private collections around the world, she also has published works in Wildlife Art and Animal Companion magazines. Robert Paul Galleries is proud to show the works of American artist Beatrice Bork.
