William Herczeg

William Herczeg was born in 1958 in Szekszard, Hungary.  At the age of 14 he began his art studies at the Art School in Pecs, Hungary.

His teacher was Foth Erno from whom he learned graphics and model design.  Romantic houses and towns always appealed to Herczeg and he developed a talent towards this style.

In 1977 he began his studies at the Academy for Arts in Budapest, Hungary.  There he learned object and environment planning and also became acquainted with the various branches of applied and fine arts.  The focus of his diploma work in 1982 was a site plan of the beautiful and well known Andrassy Avenue in Budapest.  Andrassy Avenue was constructed in the late 19th century and is a wide and spacious avenue that is tree lined and bordered by magnificent villas and historic buildings.

William Herczeg always looked towards Bonington, Cornelis Springer and the German Master, Spitzweg for inspiration.  As a European artist, he follows the classic European styles in terms of topic, contents and workmanship as well.

Robert Paul Galleries is proud to bring the paintings of William Herczeg to the American Collector.
