Pan Mossi

Pan Mossi was born in Shanghai, China in 1968.  He fell in love with art at a young age and even entered his artwork in a contest at the age of 13.  Even though Mossi’s parents disapproved of his becoming an artist, he entered The Shanghai University choosing oil painting as his major.  During his college years, he exhibited his work with his classmates many times and was recognized for his outstanding work.  Mossi graduated in 1990 and had big hopes for his career.  However, since his family was having financial difficulties, Mossi had to put aside his dream as an artist for a few years.  He tried working at other jobs, but usually ended up quitting within four months.  Unable to hold a steady job, Mossi’s uncle encouraged him to move to Beijing.  His uncle saw the talent in Mossi and funded his supplies until Mossi was making enough money to support himself as an artist. Since then, he has been working as an artist and works harder than ever before.

Mossi is currently involved in many associations including the Shanghai Artist Association and the Chinese Young Artist League.  He has held countless exhibitions, namely The Shanghai Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition in 1994 and Asian Young Artist Invitation Exhibition in 1999 to name a few.  Mossi was nationally recognized at the 40th Anniversary for the Founding of P.R.C.  His work was first shown in the United States at the International Artexpo New York in 2002.  The artwork of Pan Mossi can be found in many private collections in China, Korea, Japan, Sweden, Singapore, Philippines and the United States.

Mossi continues to explore new techniques, and believes that his career is a learning process.  His painting tends to be thick with colors and texture.  The heavy palettes of his painting are unique and strong, causing the viewer to further investigate what the artist is trying to express.

Robert Paul Galleries is proud to bring the works of Pan Mossi to the American Collector.
