J.D. Logan Folk artist J.D. Logan, entirely self taught, turned to painting only a few years ago when an injury to his left hand in 1998 forced him to set aside the guitar, his first love. From the beginning, his paintings have been inspired by the peace and beauty of the surrounding hills and towns of his New England home. Although he has been painting only a short time, his paintings hang in numerous private collection in the US and abroad. In 2002 he decided to devote his full time to creating and promoting his art. Recently, Early American Life Magazine chose him to be in The Directory of Traditional American Crafts which recognizes the country's finest artisans. J.D. lives with his wife Kim, their daughter Emilee, and their three cats Patches, Cookie, and Gary in a small cape (named Half Acre Farm) nestled in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts. Working out of a studio in his home, surrounded by family and nature, J.D. seeks simplicity in both his art and his life. Robert Paul Galleries is proud to show the works of American artist J.D. Logan. |
