Yvonne Kallen
Yvonne Kallen was born in Sweden.
After her high school graduation she
studied fashion design and Haute Couture in Sweden and Denmark from 1966 to
1970.
Between 1970 and 1990 Yvonne Kallen
worked as a designer and production manager for different Swedish companies
conducting business with Europe and Asia.
In 1990 she started her own design and
production company and in 1993 she was running an international fabric business
in Stockholm. In that year she also met her husband in Stockholm and moved from
Sweden to be with him in Connecticut.
In 1997 she started her own company
which now designs a variety of of hot-colored latex coated paper flowers.
“Sweden has a tradition of colors and fresh, clean design,” she says.
The first time she showed her items at
the California Gift Show in Los Angeles; she won Best of Collection out of 2,000
entries and at the Atlanta show people lined up at her booth before the show
opened.
In 2001 Yvonne and her husband moved to
Santa Fe, New Mexico where she continues her design business.
